Dark Star Dog Training
Fizz (Red Button Sunshine) is a Kennel Club registered, solid red working cocker spaniel. He has a wonderful temperament at home as a family pet and out as a working gundog: a fantastic nose, great drive, and an eager to please retriever. He is athletic and agile and weighs 14kg.
His pedigree includes Field Trial Champions Argyll Warrior and Argyll Chieftain, as well as Timsgarry Barlow and Timsgarry Kelly, and he has a low Kennel Club inbreeding coefficient.
Fizz is proven and is AMS, FN and PRA-prcd clear. He is tested clear for Paradoxical Pseudomyotonia and has passed his BVA/KC/ISDS eye examination and gonioscopy with no breed related conditions. We also own his father, Chocolate Button Pride (Dodger), a solid chocolate, proven and health tested KC registered dog.
Stud fee

Meet Our Team
At Dark Star Dog Training, we are a husband and wife team who are passionate about helping both dogs and their owners.
Led by Jason, a former police hostage and crisis negotiator, a qualified advanced canine behaviourist and trainer, with a Masters Degree in human psychology, our family team brings extensive experience working with various dog breeds. Liz also worked with the police and has extensive experience in working with people.
We are committed to providing personalised training programs tailored to your dog's specific needs and behaviours, ensuring a happy and well-trained companion for life.
As owners of three cocker spaniels, pet gundogs that work during the shooting season, we understand the complexities that dog ownership can bring. Whether you have a new puppy, need help with training or have a behavioural problem, we can help.
Where appropriate our dogs, Dodger, Pip and Fizz act as demonstrators or as distractions to help us to help you get the best out of your dog.
A percentage of our profits go towards police mental health support charities.
Went to Jason to start the journey with my dog training her to be a gundog. He has a great understanding of dogs, and really helps you understand how to make the dog work with you. Really helpful knowledgeable guy, will definitely be back for more training with him.

Fabulous informative and enjoyable training session with Jason giving us some great basic gundog techniques to practice with our 7 month working cocker, and the follow-up video as a reminder, and to keep us on track is invaluable, will definitely be booking more sessions.

Thank you for this morning Jason. Truly eye opening! Having been daunted by the thought of puppy training, I’m now quite excited! The kids enjoy their exercises with him too! Lots to think about. Thank you. Mary and her cocker spaniel
